Long Awaited Skate Park to Open at Memorial Park in East Orange

EAST ORANGE, NJ - It was rumored for years that East Orange would one day have a skate park for our kids. Although there was clear evidence of the growing popularity of skateboarding in the city, the reality of a skate park was seemingly a distant hope.

Thanks to Mayor Ted Green, the East Orange City Council and the hard work of the administration’s Grants Management, Recreation & Cultural Affairs and Public Works team, the skate park has become a reality.

The City is proud to announce that on Wednesday August 14, 2019 from 1:00-4:00 PM Mayor Green will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to formally introduce and open the skate park for city residents to enjoy.

The facility is located within Memorial Park on Freeway Drive and South Arlington Avenue. There will be live demonstrations, music and food. All are welcomed.
