EAST ORANGE, NJ - One of the more anticipated events of summer in East Orange is Jazz on the Plaza. Tuesday evening, Mayor Ted Green, the East Orange City Council, the Arts Council of East Orange and Discovery Jersey Arts sponsored the annual event at 44 City Hall Plaza.
Jazz on the Plaza has delighted jazz music enthusiast for over 20 years; and this summer is no exception. Tuesday evening the series featured Bassist Vernon Crowe and the VBand jazzing up pop and R&B tunes with their own distinct style. Joining the group was popular jazz saxophonist James White.
Jazz in the Plaza is held simultaneously with the East Orange Farmer’s Market, so in the background are shoppers still purchasing fresh produce while enjoying the music.
The event is free and open to all. Food and music can be purchased at the Farmer’s Market.
