EAST ORANGE, NJ - The Community Spotlight has been used by TAPinto East Orange/Orange to bring attention to many worthy people and organizations in ur community like pastors, politicians, business & non-profit leaders. But today we pause to ‘spotlight’ and appreciate one of our own teenagers: TAPinto EO/Orange Youth Corespondent Madison Green.

Madison’s work with TAPinto began quite innocently. Back in January, as a high school junior, she sent a thoughtful and passionate post on Rev. Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. The content was well written and timely; and was posted as a Letter to the Editor. That post opened the door. She was persistent about wanting to work with TAPinto and refuse to take no for an answer.

She became our student intern during the summer, and her body of work speaks for itself. She served as reporter, interviewer, photographer, videographer and any thing she was asked to do. She interviewed local public figures including Mayor Ted Green, Assemblywoman Britnee Timberlake, Keely Freeman Executive Director of Sierra House and businesswoman extraordinaire Jessica Quintana, owner of East Orange McDonalds; just to name a few.

We would be remiss if we didn’t also mention her mother, Patricia Cole-Green, who was with Madison at every event and interview.

Madison will be starting her senior year in High School. We wish her the best. She will always have a spot at TAPinto East Orange.
