EAST ORANGE — An admission free SAFE SPACE Halloween Party is being hosted by Eagle Flight Squadron at their Firehouse Headquarters — 410 Springdale Avenue in East Orange — on Thursday, October 31, 2019. This “safe space” gathering for youngsters, parents and guardians, who may or may not wish to “Trick or Treat” on neighboring streets, will open at 6:00 pm.
Eagle Flight Squadron is a non-profit, after-school aviation training program that has served East Orange and the surrounding communities since 1975. Now in our 45th year, Eagle Flight Squadron has served thousands of area youth. Many of their student-cadets have earned Private Pilot license before graduating from high school and have gone on to a variety of successful flying and non-flying careers.
The program is available to all students from 12 years old, ending with their high school graduation. Students can enroll and receive top-notch aviation training in the form of self-discipline drills, ground school and flight school at the Firehouse and at Essex County Airport, all at a nominal cost. Parents or guardians must also commit to supporting their child’s ambitions by participating in structured program and fundraising activities.
