EAST ORANGE, NJ - Summer in East Orange is filled with community activities. Weekly, every Tuesday through October the City sponsors the Farmer’s Market and Jazz at the Plaza at City Hall. Last week the Mayor and City Council had every ward in the City abuzz with excitement for National Night Out. There are several backpack give-a-ways and school supply distributions hosted by our nonprofits. A new skate park has been developed and will open for business next week. Later this month the Mayor will once again host his annual mega music celebration in Elmwood Park. But none of these events happen without the dedicated hard work of his administrative staff.
In a sincere heart-felt memorandum to City personnel, Mayor Green issued a note of thanks to all the volunteers that helped make his first Summer Community Cook-out a success. This acknowledgement did not go unnoticed by the many staff persons that routinely give fo their personal time and talent to ensure the City events go on without a ‘hitch’.
Members of the City’s Public Information Office put together a group of candid photos showing the great time they had working at the aforementioned event(s).
“On behalf of Mayor Ted Green, thank you to all of our staff, volunteers and guests who participated in the Mayor's First Community Cookout at East Orange Campus High Field! From the food, vendors, and informational booths to the games, raffles and music, the cookout was a huge success for our residents and friends of all ages! Thank you again!
