Thick Smoke From Tuesday Fifth-Alarm Fire at Elizabeth Waste Management Facility Seen Across North Jersey, NYC

ELIZABETH, NJ - A Fifth-Alarm Fire at the Waste Management facility on Julia Street Tuesday sent thick smoke throughout North Jersey and could even be viewed in New York City. 

The City of Elizabeth reports receiving a phone call about the fire at approximately 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. The fire is believed to be started by machinery at the plant.
