“Antiques River-Road Show” Appraisal Fair and Book Sale Event Benefits The Historic Metlar-Bodine House Museum

PISCATAWAY, NJ - Have you inherited a beautiful painting…found a piece of jewelry at a garage sale…or discovered a confederate dollar bill while cleaning out your parent’s attic?  Have you been wondering - Is it a TREASUREor is it TRASH?  Come to the Appraisal Fair….We’ve got the answers!

On Sunday, October 9th, 2016, bring as many as three (3) items to be evaluated, for a donation of three for $25 or $10 each, to the 2nd Biennial “Antiques River-Road Show” Appraisal Fair and Book Sale. The event benefits the historic Metlar-Bodine House Museum, which serves as the official historical and cultural museum of Piscataway Township and is listed on the National and (NJ) State Registers of Historic Places.

From 11:00am to 3:00pm, expert professional appraisers specializing in art, ephemera, architectural pieces, furniture, jewelry, toys, military items, pottery, advertising, primitives, African & Asian items, glass, china, textiles and vintage clothing are volunteering to examine your possessions and determine their worth.

From 10:00am to 4:00pm, there also will be a fabulous Book Sale on subjects as varied as antiques, history, literature, collectibles, historic architecture, cooking, and art history, and more … and …be sure to take advantage of a special sale in the museum’s Dutch Door gift shop.  The event will take place throughout the historic site and refreshments will be available.
