Baseball: Bears Defeat Mustangs 6-1

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Coming off of a loss in the GMC Tournament the Bears went up against John F. Kennedy Memorial High School and East Brunswick earned a 6-1 victory. The Bears put up five runs in the third inning and they never looked back. The Bears pitching only allowed two total hits to the mustangs in the win.

Junior Michael Falco and Senior Evan Dekhayser each pitched one inning. Falco allowed zero hits and struck out one batter. Dekhayser allowed one hit, one run, and tallied two strikeouts. Sophomore Joe Petrocelli pitched five innings only surrendering one hit and recorded five strikeouts.

East Brunswick collected ten hits in the game against the Mustangs. In the bottom of the fifth inning the Bears had bases loaded after a couple of singles and an error. On a 1-1 count, Junior David Bermudez drove in two runs off of a single into center field. Senior Tyler Burnham came to the plate next and he drove in another run off of a single to right field. Another run scored on Burnham’s single as a result of an error by the right fielder. The following batter, Michael Falco hit a double into right field, which allowed Burnham to score. The Bears had a comfortable 5-0 lead heading into the fourth inning.

In the bottom of the fifth inning with a 5-0 lead the Bears had runners on first and second with one out. Senior Matt Nelson hit a single allowing one more run to come in to take a 6-0 lead. In the top of the seventh inning the Mustangs scored one run off a triple but the Bears still came away with a 6-1 win.

East Brunswick Rabbi Charged with Engaging in Prostitution with a Child

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Aryeh Goodman, 35, the rabbi from the  East Brunswick Chabad Learning Center has been charged with one count of engaging in prostitution with a child and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.  He was one of thirty men charged with having sex with the teenager over a four-week period.
