Bishop Ahr Defeats J.P. Stevens 54-49 in Girls Basketball

EDISON, NJ – In girls varsity basketball, crosstown rival high schools J.P. Stevens and Bishop George Ahr met Thursday in a rematch from last month, in which the Trojans defeated the Hawks 44-39.

This time the game score was a loss of 5 points again with the Hawks losing to the Trojans, 54-49.

BGA took a commanding lead in the first period, leading 21-6, but ran out of steam during the second period with JPS only giving up 6 points.

With halftime providing the need time for the Trojans to catch their breath, they again commanded the third period scoring 17 points to Hawks 12. 

In the final period, BGA lost steam again scoring 10 points to JPS’ 20 points, but it wasn’t enough for the Hawks to close the gap of 6 points.

Top scorers for the game goes to BGA’s, Lauren Barlow with 24 points followed up by teammate Jenna Harsh with 13.

For JPS, top scorers were Kathy Tong with 12 points and Rebecca DiSerio with 10.
