EDISON, NJ – Bishop Ahr’s Christine LaRochelle struck out seven Tiger batters and scattered just five hits over seven innings to record a 4-0 shutout victory over South Plainfield yesterday in Edison. 

Ahr’s cleanup hitter, Megan Kushpa went two for three at the plate with a homerun and three RBIs to lead the Trojans offense.  LaRochelle, helped her own cause at the plate going one for three with a run scored and an RBI.

Freshman Katherine Vill was the losing pitcher for the Tigers despite striking out eight batters and allowing just two earned runs.  The win improves Bishop Ahr’s record to 2-1 on the season, and South Plainfield falls to 3-1 on the season.

East Brunswick Rabbi Charged with Engaging in Prostitution with a Child

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Aryeh Goodman, 35, the rabbi from the  East Brunswick Chabad Learning Center has been charged with one count of engaging in prostitution with a child and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.  He was one of thirty men charged with having sex with the teenager over a four-week period.

New Brunswick Prisoner Reentry Site to Open Tuesday

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Former Gov. Jim McGreevey, who has made prisoner reentry programs his major focus, will be on hand Tuesday to open a new site on Livingston Avenue. 

McGreevey runs the New Jersey Reentry Corporation (NJRC), a nonprofit agency serving court-involved individuals. The opening is set for 11 a.m. at  57 Livingston Avenue, Unit 3, New Brunswick, N.J.
