EDISON, NJ - The Edison boys basketball team bolted to a 17-point lead in the first quarter en route to a 50-29 victory over South Brunswick in the preliminary round of the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament on Tuesday.

Abu Kaikai finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and two blocks for Edison (14-10), which led, 19-2 after one quarter.

Christian Wantong totaled 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists and four blocked shots for the Eagles. Thomas Johnson had nine points and five rebounds, and Alkeim Raines paced Edison in assists with four.
