BREAKING NEWS: NY NJ Bombing Suspect Captured

LINDEN, NJ — An Elizabeth sought in connection with the bombing New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood over the weekend has been captured in Linden, according to multiple reports. One police officer was reportedly shot. His condition is not yet known.

Another officer may have been injured as well, according to reports.

The suspect, Ahmad khan Rahami, s 28-year-old US citizen of Afghan descent, according to the FBI. His last known address was in Elizabeth.

It has not been determined if Rahami also played a role in the bomb that was detonated in Seaside Park early Saturday, or the bombs found in a backpack near the Elizabeth train station late Sunday night.

Homeland Security has also arrived at the scene in Liden.

A perimeter at the Linden shooting scene has been established and the bomb squad was on its way to the scene to investigate the contents of a suspicious backpack found at the site.
