Beyond Organics: Lawn & Landscapes Without Pesticides, held from 10 a.m. to noon, will teach homeowners how to have a beautiful lawn and garden without depending upon synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. Topics covered will include practices for promoting healthy soil, organic fertilizers and amendments and basic plant care. Homeowners will leave with a better understanding of how to have a healthy, self-sustaining landscape that increases biodiversity and promotes beneficial habitat. Dress for some outside field time.

Container Gardening for All Seasons, to be held from 1 to 3 p.m., is a perfect workshop if condo or apartment living limits your gardening efforts.
Plants grown in containers or pots are less vulnerable to soil conditions, insects and disease and are potentially mobile as well. This lecture will cover the history of this growing technique and best practices for success.

Those interested should register for one or both workshops at 732-398-5262 by May 15.

For more information on programs offered by the Middlesex County’s Cooperative Extension call 732-398-5260.
