EDISON, NJ – St. Matthews Church in Edison will host a Diamond Gloves Boxing benefit for St. Jude Research Hospital in honor of Patricia Maurath on Sept. 13 at 100 Seymour Ave. Edison. Doors open at 4 p.m.

Maurath resided in Edison for many years with her husband and four sons, eventually becoming a grandmother of 10 grandchildren who was affectionately known as “Grammy.” Patricia’s love for children extended beyond her own by working in various schools and day cares over the years.

Patricia was a parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Parish and a long time St. Jude Children's Hospital contributor.

Fight Night

There are over 20 fights scheduled for the evening in weight classes ranging from lightweight to heavyweight.

Seating is limited and the first fight starts at 5 p.m.

General Admission is $20 and Ringside is $30

East Brunswick Rabbi Charged with Engaging in Prostitution with a Child

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Aryeh Goodman, 35, the rabbi from the  East Brunswick Chabad Learning Center has been charged with one count of engaging in prostitution with a child and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.  He was one of thirty men charged with having sex with the teenager over a four-week period.

New Brunswick Prisoner Reentry Site to Open Tuesday

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Former Gov. Jim McGreevey, who has made prisoner reentry programs his major focus, will be on hand Tuesday to open a new site on Livingston Avenue. 

McGreevey runs the New Jersey Reentry Corporation (NJRC), a nonprofit agency serving court-involved individuals. The opening is set for 11 a.m. at  57 Livingston Avenue, Unit 3, New Brunswick, N.J.
