EDISON, NJ – Saturday was opening day for the 61st season of the Edison Boys Baseball League.

The season parade kicked off at 11:30 a.m. and marched down Central Avenue to the Edison Boys Fields while hundreds of fans lined the streets to support the children. 

Before the first pitches were thrown, several league alumni, former board members, Edison High School Baseball players / coaches, and Executive Board Members took part in the opening ceremonies.

Mayor Thomas Lankey was on hand to address the audience and throw out the ceremonial first pitch. 

The EBBL consists of children from ages 4-15 and has spring and fall leagues as well as several travel baseball teams. More information can be found by clicking Edison Baseball League.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Aryeh Goodman, 35, the rabbi from the  East Brunswick Chabad Learning Center has been charged with one count of engaging in prostitution with a child and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.  He was one of thirty men charged with having sex with the teenager over a four-week period.

New Brunswick Prisoner Reentry Site to Open Tuesday

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Former Gov. Jim McGreevey, who has made prisoner reentry programs his major focus, will be on hand Tuesday to open a new site on Livingston Avenue. 

McGreevey runs the New Jersey Reentry Corporation (NJRC), a nonprofit agency serving court-involved individuals. The opening is set for 11 a.m. at  57 Livingston Avenue, Unit 3, New Brunswick, N.J.
