Edison Board of Education Candidate Profile: Shivi Prasad

EDISON, NJ - The Alternative Press of Edison begins its series of profiles of this year's Board of Education candidates in Edison.

This afternoon's profile is of Shivi Prasad, running for her first term for the Edison Board of Education. (Ms. Prasad is not related to Dr. Sudanshu Prasad.)

Shivi holds a Master's degree in Public Administration with specialization in public policy from New York University's Wagner School of Public Service. She has over 15 years' experience in the public sector, and is presently employed as a policy analyst for a nonprofit organization. Shivi is trained in quantitative research methods and has a deep understanding of policy issues affecting the state of New Jersey.

Shivi is currently a Vice President in the John Adams Middle School PTO and has volunteered at Martin Luther King School in the past.

Shivi and her husband have resided in Edison for 10 years with two children in Edison Public Schools and one who graduated in 2013.
