EDISON, NJ - The four Democrats running for Edison Township Council have named Anthony Russomanno as their Campaign Chairman to hire and supervise the campaign's paid staff, recruit and motivate volunteers, coordinate the field operation, and create an effective voter-turnout program.

“Serving as Campaign Chairman is a huge task to ask of anyone, especially on an unpaid, volunteer basis,” Councilman Robert Karabinchak said. “Anthony is tireless and, by far, has the most campaign experience having been the driving force behind six municipal races.”

Karabinchak is running for re-election in the Nov. 2nd Election with incumbent Councilman Michael R. Lombardi and newcomers Ajay Patil and Leonard D. Sendelsky on the Edison Democrats 2015 ticket.

The four Council candidates also named Edison attorney Michael F. Lombardi as their Finance Chairman and Geraldine Piegdon as Campaign Treasurer to coordinate fund-raising efforts and manage their finances.

“I am grateful to our candidates for their support and confidence, although this means I will be working more nights and weekends especially as the election draws near,” Russomanno said.

Russomano's first priority will be to hire a qualified campaign manager and field director, and to recruit energetic campaign volunteers. He also pledged that the Campaign Team would “work closely” with the Edison Democratic Organization's newly elected leadership.

“This is a time for unity and cooperation. We all have one common goal — to elect the most qualified Council candidates,” Russomanno said. “We must work together to continue making progress and doing what's best for the people of Edison.”
