Edison High Students Emily Cordova and Ashley Santos Youth Correspondent Advisors of 2015-2016

EDISON, NJ - Emily Cordova and Ashley Santos were accepted to represent New Jersey and Edison High School as Youth Correspondent Advisors of 2015-2016 for the National Organization for Youth Safety (NOYS).

As advisors, they were able to attend the Youth Correspondent Advisor Training November 13-15 in Washington, D.C. Youth Correspondent Advisors aim to creatively use multimedia and communication channels to share safety messages with peers, parents and community. They work with campaigns and groups of students all over the world to help promote anti-bullying and safe driving.

The mission of NOYS is to build partnerships that will save lives, prevent injuries, and promote safe and healthy lifestyles among all youth while encouraging youth empowerment and leadership. Working in collaboration with member organizations, the NOYS coalition maintains a strong focus on traffic safety, while also addressing other issues affecting youth safety such as injury prevention, substance abuse prevention, violence prevention and least but not least suicide prevention.

Nearly $900K Bid Received for Construction of New New Brunswick Park

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Only one company submitted a bid to build a new city park on land where three abandoned houses once stood.

A-Tech Concrete of Edison submitted a bid of $897,316.25 to construct a park on Welton Street, near Drift Street.
