EDISON, NJ - The June 2015 Employee of the Month for the Township of Edison is Timothy Morley.

Morley has been a dedicated and loyal employee for the Township of Edison since November 15, 2010.

Morley was hired by the Township as a Fire Official in the Fire Division’s Fire Prevention and Inspection Bureau.

Since his undertaking of this role, Morley has proven himself to be a highly focused and knowledgeable employee as it relates to his position and is quick to remedy situations that may arise. Under the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code Tim’s duties include coordinating the inspection of 1,000 life hazard use occupancies, multi-family and residential smoke detector inspections, investigation of all fires within the Township 24 hours a day, and fire safety complaints which average around 25 a week.

Morley has improved the efficiency of the Bureau by adding 3 additional Fire Inspectors, going paperless with inspection forms and issuance of violations saving on costs. He has implemented the use of IPads for Fire Battalion Chiefs to be able to receive accurate information of all hazard and commercial properties at the emergency scene and the information is updated annually from the inspection performed by the Bureau.

Nearly $900K Bid Received for Construction of New New Brunswick Park

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Only one company submitted a bid to build a new city park on land where three abandoned houses once stood.

A-Tech Concrete of Edison submitted a bid of $897,316.25 to construct a park on Welton Street, near Drift Street.

Rutgers Hikes Tuition, Student Fees for 2018-2019 Academic Year

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Rutgers University Board of Governors today approved a 2.3 percent hike in tuition and fees, as well as increases for dorm rooms and meals, for the 2018-2019 academic year.
