Edison Native Mike Vallely to Unveil Remodeled Skateboard Park

EDISON, NJ – Edison officials will unveil the newly renovated municipal skateboard-BMX facility at Papianni Park, across from the Municipal Complex, on Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Edison native and professional skateboarder Mike Vallely will cut the ribbon at the municipal skate park's rededication ceremony.

“I’m excited about returning to Edison, being there for the dedication of the new skatepark, saying hello to all the skaters, seeing old friends and getting a Tastee Sub,” Vallely said.

Vallely is widely known for his skills as a professional skateboarder, is also an actor, stuntman and musician.Vallely is a lead singer with the hardcore punk band Black Flag.

In 2014, Middlesex County awarded Edison a $150,000 matching grant from the county's Open Space, Recreation and Farmland and Historic Preservation Trust Fund to be used for the Papianni Park-Skateboard/BMX redevelopment project.
