Edison, NJ - The Edison Recreation Department will be hosting two job fairs to hire individuals for the ABC/YAP and Kids Fun Club programs. The first Job Fair will be held at the Edison Municipal Building on July 9 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The second job fair is scheduled for July 16 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Minnie B. Veal Community Center.
According to the Township, the Recreation Department is seeking to hire instructors and assistants to work in the Department’s Before & After School Child Care programs. The Department is also hiring instructors and assistants for the Kids Fun Club programs as well as Teen Center attendants.
Before and After School Child Care positions are available to those 16 years of age or older. According to the Township, the position entails providing varied, supervised activities for children in grades kindergarten through fifth, such as study/homework time, snack time, arts & crafts and recreational activities. The program hours are before school from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and/or after school from 3:00/3:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This program is held in every public elementary and middle school in Edison Township and follows the school year calendar.
According to the Township, the department is also seeking candidates to serve as instructors and assistants for 8 weeks, on Wednesdays from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. or Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., for Kids Fun Clubs. Instructors and assistants will conduct classes on arts and crafts, cooking, science, and other areas.
The Teen Center Attendant positions are open to active adults with a driver’s license, willing to work with teens and adults at the Minnie B. Veal Community Center to oversee building activities, and work with the teens and adults from approximately 6p.m. to 10p.m. and up to 15 hours per week.
