EDISON, NJ – The Edison Young Dems will be hosting their first general meeting on Saturday, September 29 at 3pm at the Middlesex County Democratic Organization Headquarters, located at 266 Fernwood Ave, Edison, New Jersey.  “If you don’t have a seat at the table, you’re going to be put on the menu. Now more than ever, young people need a seat at the table - and the Edison Young Dems has been founded to get that seat for young people in our town,” said the organization’s President Tilak Bhatnagar.

The meeting will feature presentations by Edison Democratic Organization (EDO) Chairman Shariq Ahmad, and several incumbent office holders.  Organizers stated that the speakers will share their experiences and lessons learnt. The President and Vice President of the Young Dems, Tilak Bhatnagar and Saketa Chadalavada, will discuss  their insights on how young people can get involved in governance and politics. “Young people are the future of our community. I am excited to be working with youth to build a better future together for Edison,” said Chairman Shariq Ahmad.  Vice President Saketa Chadalavada added, "I have always wanted to create an outlet which would allow myself and the other politically engaged youth within Edison to express their opinions and get involved with local politics. With the Edison Young Democrats, this will finally become a reality.”
