UNION COUNTY -- School Board Member? Town Council seat? If you are interested in running for local office, learn about the nuts and bolts of the process by joining Union County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi for a free election training workshop at Scotch Plains Public Library on Monday, Feb. 1 at 7:00 pm.

The workshop will guide participants through the steps needed for placement on the ballot as a candidate for school board or local office. Topics covered include the qualifications required to run for office, how and where to file a petition, filing deadlines and campaign finance reports.

Ms. Rajoppi is the author of Women In Office: Getting There and Staying There. Her workshop is for men and women over the age of 18. Please click here to register in advance.

The Scotch Plains Public Library is located at 1927 Bartle Ave., just off Park Ave., in downtown Scotch Plains.
