Former NY Jets Player and 2007 Edison H.S. Alum Keynote Speaker at MLK Observance

EDISON, NJ - In honor of African American Heritage Month and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday, the Edison Recreation Department will host a special observance at the Minnie B. Veal Community Center at 1070 Grove Avenue in Edison.

Highlighting the observance is the keynote speaker, former New York Jets football player and 2007 Edison High School alumni, Michael Campbell

Awards will also be presented to the winners of the “Who’s Your Hero?” contest, where participants depict their “Hero” in the form of original artwork, poetry or a short essay.

Lending their voices in the celebration of Dr. King’s life, the Mount Pleasant Baptist Adult Church Choir and the Martin L. King, Jr. Elementary School Chorus Club will perform throughout the program.
