Freezing Rain Advisory in Effect for Edison and Surrounding Areas

EDISON, NJ – The National Weather Service at Mount Holly, NJ, has issued a freezing rain advisory. Be prepared for slippery roads and slow down and use caution while driving.

The freezing rain advisory now in effect until noon EST today with freezing rain and freezing drizzle with ice accumulations of a glaze to 1/10th of an inch.

The freezing rain and freezing drizzle this morning will transition to plain rain around midday.

Impacts - Ice will form on untreated surfaces including sidewalks, road, bridges, and overpasses. This will lead to very hazardous travel.  Once temperatures have risen above freezing, it may take some additional time for ice on paved surfaces to completely melt.

Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 20s to lower 30s this morning will and rise into the mid to upper 30s by late morning to early afternoon.
