EDISON, NJ - Major promoter, record label owner, songwriter, producer and arranger Paul Kyser will lead a discussion on the status of Black Music on Thursday, August 9th  at the next Metuchen Edison Piscataway Area Branch NAACP General Meeting. The forum will be held at 7 PM at the Stelton Community Center in Edison. “We have seen a decrease in coverage of R&B music. We are going to explore how it got to this point and where it is going” said Reggie Johnson, President of the association.

Paul Kyser has worked with Soul Generations, The Weather Girls, Ray Goodman & Brown, Brenda & the Tabulations, Rhyze, Devotion, Renee Walker and many more artists according to the association.  “We are excited to have such an individual who has experienced music for so long, and has been through all aspects of music - he’s done it all” said Johnson. “Paul will share his experience in the music business and his insights on the future of Black Music” he added.

The Metuchen Edison Piscataway Area Branch has been active since 1942. It serves Edison, Highland Park, Metuchen, Piscataway and South Plainfield, New Jersey.  “Our focus is to develop programs that deal with racism and discrimination to educate folks, and fight off this discrimination.” stated Johnson.
