Edison, NJ – The Edison High School Girls Varsity Basketball team is moving on to the final round of the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament. The Eagles defeated cross town rival J.P. Stevens by a score of 58-40 in the semi-finals and will take on first seed Bishop Ahr on Friday.
Angella Consolazio and Lourdes Marasigan led the Eagles in scoring, each contributing 13 points. The latter hit twice from beyond the arc. Daniella Marmol posted a double-double, recording 12 points and 10 rebounds. Kenisha Chester added an additional 12 points.
For third seeded J.P. Stevens, Megan Duffy led scorers with 12 points. Kiarah Turner added 8 points, including a three-pointer.
This was the second matchup between the teams. The Hawks previously lost to the second seeded Eagles by a score of 49-42 in January.
The Eagles will take on a Bishop Ahr team that comes of a win against fourth seeded Middlesex. Kelsey Ransom scored 28 points and collected 14 rebounds to propel Bishop Ahr to a 67-43 win against Middlesex.
