EDISON, NJ – The Inman Sports Complex, located on 2 Villa Drive, celebrated its Grand Opening on September 15. Rosemarie Piperato, the new owner of the facility, was accompanied by Mayor Thomas Lankey and Councilman Leonard Sendelsky in the ribbon cutting ceremony. “If the facility is run anywhere near as well and as committed as this event, it's gonna be a great, great facility” said Mr. Lankey.
Prior to the ribbon cutting ceremony, Jim Dowd, retired New Jersey Devils player and Stanley Cup Champion, visited the facility for a meet and greet. Residents were able to get autographs and pictures with the celebrated athlete. The Grand Opening event, which ran from 12-5, also featured a presentation from the Edison School of Music and Dance, a Flexfit Training & Fitness Presentation, a Summer Camp Presentation and Free Swim, as well as a Bouncy House which was open all day.
“We wish to encourage friendly competition between businesses, schools, municipalities, police and fire departments, church groups, fraternities, sororities and other organizations who wish to use our facilities” said organizers. The facilities at the Sports Complex include an indoor rink, indoor field, basketball court, and a pool. Along with these are player accommodations, which include restrooms with showers, and 2 changing areas. The Complex also has two viewing areas- one at ground level, and the other on the upper level. These facilities can be accessed by registering for membership and paying annual dues.
Ms. Piperato stated “there is so much to offer here. You can come here with your family during the day and you can pretty much spend the day here. You can take music lessons, dance lessons, flex fit- you can work out while your kid takes a music lesson. There’s so many different areas to tap into here.”
