J.P. Stevens Lacrosse Team Falls to Old Bridge

EDISON, NJ - The J.P. Stevens boys lacrosse team looked to build upon its win Friday against Bishop Ahr High School, however, the momentum did little for the Hawks against Old Bridge on Monday.

"We are not always going to have a perfect game but we need to put on a better performance than we did today" sophomore Robert Distefano said.

Distefano scored the only two goals for the Hawks with assists from senior Alex Zias.

The Hawks loss on Monday dropped the Hawks overall record to 5-7  and are 2-6 in their conference.

“Obviously this is not the result we wanted. We have to learn from our losses and continue to grow as a team," J.P. Stevens coach Michael Siter, said. “Obviously, you look at the record we have versus our conference and we just need to step it up."

The Hawks only have one more game left on their schedule against their cross town rivals.  The season finale is at Edison High School on May 9.

“Hopefully we can end this season on a high note at Edison High," Siter said.

The Hawks ended up falling to Old Bridge by a final score of 14-2 at home.

Ashwin Luther, a sophomore at J.P. Stevens High School, is participating in the journalism internship program with TAP Into Edison.
