JFK Adult Medical Day Program Client Celebrates 102 Years Young

Eva Gemma Curcione wanted to celebrate her special (102nd) birthday by honoring the memory of her four brothers, who were firefighters. Eva’s idea was to honor them by paying tribute to the local firefighters in the community. In turn, an invitation by the JFK Adult Medical Day Program staff, was extended to Edison Mayor, Thomas Lankey, and the members of the Edison Fire Department, to attend Eva’s special birthday celebration.  Eva was quite touched and surprised, when an entire Fire Department came parading in behind the Edison Mayor along with former Councilman, Dr. Prasad.

At Eva’s side, was her dear friend, and recent member of the ‘100 Plus’ club, Julia Hilinski. The ladies met at the JFK Adult Medical Day Program and have since become good friends. Julia celebrated her 100th Birthday in January, with a party at the Colonia Country Club with special guest, Woodbridge Mayor McCormac. Julia has been volunteering at the election poll in Iselin for many years, and had recently served as the Poll Judge in this past Presidential Election - a job that she takes quite seriously and with great pride.

The JFK Adult Medical Day Program is a non-profit, medical day care program, licensed by the State of New Jersey. The community- based program is located at 3 Progress Street, in Edison. In addition to providing an excellent cost-effective day time healthcare alternative, to participants who possess a variety of illnesses, and memory disorders, it also provides the frail elderly with a safe, interactive, and socially engaging environment where they have opportunities to foster friendships. Various funding programs are available, depending upon each participant’s needs and financial circumstances.
