SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Sophomore Kirti Craig's two goals helped the Spotswood High School girls varsity soccer team defeat St. Thomas Aquinas 2-1 on Friday. Kayle Leonard assisted on one of Craig's goal. The victory kept the Chargers as one of three remaining teams in the Greater Middlesex Conference that are undefeated. Spotswood is 5-0 to start the 2019 season.

Julia Masucci made nine saves in the win. St. Thomas' goal was the first one Masucci has allowed all season, earning a shutout in the first four games. Jayana Correa had one goal for St. Thomas and Jill Balsamo had one assist. Eryn Oldroyd made eight saves for the Trojans.

Spotswood faces Metuchen High School on Monday at the Spotswood High School Varsity Soccer Field. Game time is 4 p.m. The Bulldogs are 4-2. This is the first meeting of the season between the two teams.
