Missing Sex Offender Living in Edison Arrested in Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A high-profile sex-offender who went missing from his Edison motel has been arrested and taken into custody, according to published reports.

Paul Timmendequas, 51, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Bridgewater, after police got a tip from someone who spotted him fishing at the Washington Valley Reservoir, according to NJ.com.

Paul Timmendequas was convicted of sexually assaulting two girls in East Brunswick and he was sentenced to a seven-year prison term.

Paul Timmendequas' infamous brother, Jesse Timmendequas, was convicted of sexually assaulting and murdering 7-year-old Megan Kanka in 1994 in Hamilton Township that led to the creation of Megan’s Law.

According to the sex offender registry, his address was at the Beauty Rest Motel in Edison, but he was reported missing on May 26, when he failed to check in with his parole officer.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Aryeh Goodman, 35, the rabbi from the  East Brunswick Chabad Learning Center has been charged with one count of engaging in prostitution with a child and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.  He was one of thirty men charged with having sex with the teenager over a four-week period.

New Brunswick Prisoner Reentry Site to Open Tuesday

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Former Gov. Jim McGreevey, who has made prisoner reentry programs his major focus, will be on hand Tuesday to open a new site on Livingston Avenue. 

McGreevey runs the New Jersey Reentry Corporation (NJRC), a nonprofit agency serving court-involved individuals. The opening is set for 11 a.m. at  57 Livingston Avenue, Unit 3, New Brunswick, N.J.
