Operation Shoebox New Jersey Commemoraties 11th Anniversary; Volunteers Invited to Help Assemble Care Packages for US Troops

MANVILLE, NJ - Operation Shoebox New Jersey will commemorate its 11th anniversary at the VFW, 600 Washington Ave., Manville on Saturday, Feb. 13.
Volunteers are invited to help assemble care packages for shipment overseas to US troops deployed around the world.
The volunteer organization, based in Hillsborough, expects to pack at least 1,000 or more care packages beginning at 11 a.m.
Operation Shoebox New Jersey volunteers have shipped 100,200 care packages overseas since its inception in 2005. 
The packing is a good opportunity for students to earn service hours.
Those who attend are asked to bring personal care and food items that can be included in the boxes shipped overseas. Check the website at www.opshoeboxnj.orgfor a full listing.
