Philomena DeFillipo Celebrates 100th Birthday

South Plainfield Mayor Matthew P. Anesh and members of the Borough Council present Philomena DeFillipo with a proclamation at her 100th birthday celebration.

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – South Plainfield resident Philomena DeFillipo celebrated her 100th birthday on Monday, March 31. She has been a lifelong resident of South Plainfield.  Her birthday celebration took place this past Sunday at Pastora Italian Ristorante in Edison.

South Plainfield Mayor Matthew P. Anesh and members of the Borough Council presented DeFillipo with a proclamation from the Office of the Mayor on behalf of the residents of South Plainfield.  Mayor Anesh said “Philomena discussed her years working in payroll for the Borough, and how she loved boating on Spring Lake.” 

Council President Alex Barletta said “it was great to be part of the day’s events. Philomena has a lot of history and wisdom we can all learn from.” Philomena remarked, “I hope people get to enjoy South Plainfield the way I did.”
