Senate President Honor Nationally Recognized Middlesex Voc-Tech

EDISON, NJ - Freeholder Director Ronald Rios and Freeholder Charles E. Tomaro joined Sen. Sweeney and state legislators to tour and honor the nationally recognized vocational-technical high school in Edison on Feb. 19.

The morning also included a roundtable discussion on the value of technical schools with students and faculty. The Academy also received an honorary NJ Senate resolution, recognizing its accomplishments. 

“Middlesex County is honored by the local, state and national recognition that our Vocational and Technical Schools consistently achieve year after year,” said Freeholder Director Rios. “I’d like to thank my colleagues on the Board of Chosen Freeholders, the school’s administration, faculty and staff and especially the students for their commitment to quality education.”

The Academy has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report with gold-medal status as one of the Top 500 public high schools in the United States.  According to Newsweek, the Academy is currently ranked as the seventh best high school in the nation.  It consistently is ranked at the top of New Jersey public high schools in academic achievement, college and career readiness, graduation rate and college acceptance.

The Middlesex County Vocational and Technical School District, the first county vocational school district in the nation, has campuses in East Brunswick, Edison, Piscataway, Perth Amboy and Woodbridge.

Nearly $900K Bid Received for Construction of New New Brunswick Park

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Only one company submitted a bid to build a new city park on land where three abandoned houses once stood.

A-Tech Concrete of Edison submitted a bid of $897,316.25 to construct a park on Welton Street, near Drift Street.
