SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – The lady Vikings basketball team slid by Bishop Ahr 53-52 Tuesday night to earn a berth in the GMC Tournament final.
South Brunswick scoring powerhouse Amber Brown added 17 to her record-setting career as well as 10 rebounds in the victory.
Alexis Adams had 10 points and 11 rebounds along with Onoseta Ufuah with 13 points and three rebounds on the night.
Both teams played tight in the first two periods, separated by just two points at the half with the Vikings on top 23-21.
South Brunswick stretched the lead to seven by the end of the third quarter.
Bishop Ahr came back strong in the final period, outscoring the Vikings 17-11, but falling just one point shy of a tie.
Emma Boslet had 17 points and Brianna Jackson put up the other 12 for Ahr.
The win puts the Vikings in the GMC final with a 21-3 record.
Bishop Ahr will now wait for the state championship tournament to start with a current record of 19-6.
