Spotswood Varsity Softball Gets Shut Out by Bishop Ahr

EDISON, NJ - Bishop Ahr's Katie Eicher was the difference on the mound yesterday as the Spotswood High School girls varsity softball team was shut out by the Trojans, 6-0. Eicher allowed only four hits, striking out 14 and walking three. She now has 111 strike outs on the season.

Alexa Raba took the loss on the mound for Spotswood. Raba pitched six innings, allowing six runs on 10 hits. The senior struck out two batters.

The loss drops the Chargers overall record to 10-2 on the season. Spotswood's four hits came from Raba and her sister Julie as well as Megan Tully and Krista VanWageninge.

The Chargers will have an off day Monday before taking on New Brunswick High School at home on Tuesday, April 26 at 4 p.m.

East Brunswick Rabbi Charged with Engaging in Prostitution with a Child

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Aryeh Goodman, 35, the rabbi from the  East Brunswick Chabad Learning Center has been charged with one count of engaging in prostitution with a child and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.  He was one of thirty men charged with having sex with the teenager over a four-week period.

New Brunswick Prisoner Reentry Site to Open Tuesday

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Former Gov. Jim McGreevey, who has made prisoner reentry programs his major focus, will be on hand Tuesday to open a new site on Livingston Avenue. 

McGreevey runs the New Jersey Reentry Corporation (NJRC), a nonprofit agency serving court-involved individuals. The opening is set for 11 a.m. at  57 Livingston Avenue, Unit 3, New Brunswick, N.J.
