Edison, NJ - On Sunday, the United Chinese American Association of New Jersey (UCAA-NJ) hosted its Annual Summer Picnic Friendship Event. The event took place at Grove 2 at Roosevelt Park for the third year.
The Association has over 130 member organizations, according to Margaret Lam, the organization's chair and founder.
“I include communities from all kinds of backgrounds, all kinds of professions, and of all politics. I want people to feel they are people in New Jersey, wherever you come from,” said Ms.Lam.
The event promoted Chinese culture and included many cultural performances and ample food. At the event were also dozens of vendors who had the opportunity to promote their businesses and organizations. Several vendors also offered treats to the residents who came to the event.
“It’s a very lively, very welcoming community with amazing cultural activities and food and very warm hearted people, so we’re loving it,” said Andreina Castillo from NJ Symphony.
