Winter Weather Advisory, More Snow Possible for Edison

Winter Weather Returns to Warren Credits: Jenn Hockenberry

EDISON, NJ – Just when you thought spring was finally here, Mother Nature has one more snow event she wants to share.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Friday, March 20 from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Snow is accumulations are possible with the potential for 2 to 5 inches of   snow. The snow is expected to accumulate on all surfaces during   the early morning, then predominantly on unpaved surfaces during the late morning and afternoon hours.

The snow is forecasted to overspread the area between about 5 a.m. throough 9 a.m.  A heavy wet snow is expected to continue through much of the day and it   should mix with sleet and rain during the afternoon. Temperatures will remain generally 25 to 30 degrees in the early morning, rising  into the middle 30s in the afternoon. Hazardous travel conditions will develop during the morning commute and they may continue through part of the day. This winter weather advisory means that snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibility. Use extra caution while driving.

Weekend Forecast

Friday: Snow, mainly after 7am. High near 36. Calm wind becoming east 5 to 8 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible. 

Friday Night: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. North wind 6 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. 

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 45. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. 

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 30. West wind 6 to 9 mph becoming northwest after midnight. 

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 40.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 22.
