The YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge & South Amboy is proud to announce that it has been selected to manage and operate the new Piscataway Community Center, located on Hoes Lane in Piscataway just south of the Kennedy Library branch.  The Center, targeted for completion in Summer 2020, will house an indoor aquatic center with three pools, a full-sized basketball court with an overhead running track, a fitness center, dance and art studios, a youth activity room and a community room.  There will also be a café and a large space for group meetings.  The Community Center will also have an outdoor pirate-themed spray park with two open flume water slides, two spray cannons, a deck geyser and a large supersplash bucket connected to a ship’s bow surrounded by hose sprayers and arches.  Covered, outdoor table seating for families will also be included.

“We have strong confidence in our local YMCA officials to manage what will be the crown jewel of Piscataway,” Mayor Brian C. Wahler said.  “The Township Council and I look forward to this great partnership to meet the needs of our wonderfully diverse and vibrant community.”

“We are very excited about our new partnership with Piscataway Township”, said Rose Cushing, President & CEO of the YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge & South Amboy.  “We bring to the table not only our 100 years of experience in providing health and wellness initiatives, but also the ability to provide to the community programs and services that support our main focus areas of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.”
