NJDTE Company Auditions

NJDTE is a pre-professional performing ensemble comprised of talented young dancers ages 5-18 from New Jersey. Throughout the year, classes in ballet, modern, contemporary dance, and repertory are taught by prominent faculty and teachers from esteemed companies and schools, including the Paris Opera Ballet, Netherlands Dance Theatre, Maurice Béjart, Limón Dance Company, Lar Lubovitch Company, Twyla Tharp, David Parsons Dance, Mark Morris Dance Group, Batsheva Dance Company, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, among others. The Ensemble annually premieres new works and maintains a diverse repertory by renowned choreographers, including Twyla Tharp, David Parsons, Robert Battle, Sidra Bell, Loni Landon, Andrea Miller, Adam Barruch, Cherice Barton, Jean Emile, Belinda McGuire, Kate Skarpetowska, Bradley Shelver, and Nancy Turano.

Admission to the Ensemble and Ensemble Company is by audition only. Auditions for Spring 2018 will be held on January 13 and 14 by appointment. All auditions consist of a full ballet technique class with current NJDTE dancers. Placement in all classes and levels, including the Summer Intensive, is at the discretion of the Artistic Director.

DANCERS ACCEPTED INTO NJDTE receive the highest caliber of training in ballet, modern, pointe and contemporary techniques during weekday classes with our acclaimed faculty.

DANCERS ACCEPTED INTO THE ENSEMBLE COMPANY receive additional training in ballet, pointe and modern during Ensemble Company technique classes on Saturdays & Sundays. These classes are followed by rehearsals for NJDTE’s full-length production of The Nutcracker in December and i Balli di Primavera, a mixed bill program of short ballet, modern and contemporary works presented each Spring.

Nearly $900K Bid Received for Construction of New New Brunswick Park

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Only one company submitted a bid to build a new city park on land where three abandoned houses once stood.
