EDISON, NJ - The Thomas Edison Center at Menlo Park has announces that renovations to the historic Edison Memorial Tower are complete.
The TECMP Board is hosting a celebration open to the public on October 24, 2015, to commemorate the Tower’s rededication.
Once on the list of the ten most endangered historic sites in New Jersey, the Tower’s restoration is almost complete, and will soon shine in its former Art deco brilliance.
Visitors come daily from all over the globe to view the inventions of Thomas Edison on the site of the world’s first organized research and development laboratory. We invite you to be part of the festivities as we rededicate the monument to the “Wizard of Menlo Park.” Please join us for this historic celebration of science, history, and achievement on October 24th, 2015.
Situated in Edison, New Jersey, since 1938, the Tower has served as a beacon for all those who come to see Thomas Edison's Menlo Park. This site looms large in global history, as it is the birthplace of the phonograph and the perfected incandescent light bulb. The tower receives visitors from all over the world. On October 24th we expect thousands to join us for the re-dedication festivities.
