Edison, NJ - On Wednesday, November 14, 2018, the Edison Arts Society will be showcasing local artist, Vikash Jha with an Opening Celebration and Reception at 6:30 pm. The event will be held in the Edison Arts Society Gallery on the 3rd floor of the Municipal building in Edison. Light refreshments will be served, and all are invited to attend.
Mr. Jha was born in eastern India and his works reflect a heavy cultural influence. He was influenced by the vibrant colors of folk paintings, Indian fabrics and cultural imageries and inspired by Indian artists including S.H. Raza and V.S. Gaitonde. In recent years he has made a concerted effort in bringing his abstract expressions-both modern and post-modern/contemporary-to a larger audience through exhibitions, galleries and art shows. Since moving to the United States over a decade ago, Mr. Jha has shown his paintings at various prestigious galleries and locations in New York and New Jersey. Last year he was part of an exhibit at Sotheby’s.
“We’re thrilled and honored to have such a very supportive and creative member of the ARTS to be opening an exhibit for the last part of our anniversary year – 2018. Please view edisonarts.org or like us on Facebook to show your support”, said Gloria S. Dittman, President of the Edison Arts Society. The exhibit will run from November 9th thru December 18th and the Gallery is open to the public from 8:30am until 4pm during the business week.
