EDISON,NJ - The Metuchen-Edison Historical Society will be celebrating Local History Day at the Metuchen library, located at 480 Middlesex Avenue in Metuchen, on February 10 from 1p.m. to 4 p.m.
This year’s program will feature items relating to the Centennial of Prohibition. Residents will also be able to view historic photographs, maps, and house information. The organization will also be selling its historic publications.
“We welcome everyone to come and view our collections of photographs, maps, and our vast collections of ephemera. It really enlightening to see the past and to appreciate how others once lived and played in the Metuchen–Edison area that we now call home.“ said Kathleen Carlucci, President of the Society.
The Metuchen-Edison Historical Society is a non-profit corporation founded to “stimulate and promote an interest in and an appreciation of the history of the geographic area in and around the Borough of Metuchen and the Township of Edison in the County of Middlesex New Jersey” according to the organization.
