EDISON, NJ - The U.S. Small Business Administration will be celebrating the accomplishments of veteran service members and military spouse small business owners nationwide during National Veterans Small Business Week, November 5 through November 9.  In Edison, the SBA will be partnering with the newly formed NJ State Veterans Chamber of Commerce to host the NJ State Veterans Chamber of Commerce Launch & Procurement Expo.  The event will be held on  Thursday, Nov. 8 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Pines Manor.  There is no registration fee but registration is required.

The event will focus on opportunities for veterans, veteran-owned companies and companies that want to do business with them. “National Veterans Small Business Week is another opportunity for us not only to highlight the success of our nation’s 2.5 million veteran-owned businesses, but also to recognize the areas where there is still work to be done,” SBA Administrator Linda McMahon said. “Entrepreneurship is not a solo mission. I’m proud to be a part of a network that serves the needs of our veteran and military business owners.” The SBA is also encouraging veterans, service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses to join the online conversation and share what their veteran business communities look like by using the hashtag #VetBiz.

The Morning Conference and Panel Session will include high ranking state officials and senior business leaders who will discuss opportunities in the public and private sector and the robust network of support organizations ready to help. In the afternoon, dozens of businesses, institutions, associations and state government organizations will discuss real-time business opportunities.
