EDISON, NJ -- Peter Van Buskirk, a 35-year veteran of the selective college admission process, made an informative, dynamic and interactive presentation at The Wardlaw+Hartridge School in Edison on Oct. 30.
Van Buskirk addressed primarily sophomores, juniors and their parents about the competitive college application process today. He spoke about finding the right fit college by knowing yourself and shared true stories to illustrate key points about the many important factors in the process.
Other highlights included his Pyramid of Selectivity, Hotspots and Hooks and the Hidden Agenda, among others. The evening ended with the audience becoming the college admission committee and making a decision about accepting only one of four applicants.
Van Buskirk’s book, Winning the College Admission Game: Strategies for Students and Parents, is a best-seller in this genre and his Prepare, Compete, Win! The Ultimate College Planning Workbook for Students is a popular, interactive guide in the college planning process.
