Five children received special recognition for their selection as Cover Art Winners, Inside Cover Art Winners and a winner for the most original drawing for each book. All other children received Honorable Mention awards for being in the book.

"I was so impressed with the quality and number of entries we received,” Sheriff Scott said. “It is reassuring to know that our children are thinking about their safety and the safety of others. They expressed their thoughts beautifully in words and pictures.”
