Edison, NJ - The Edison Recreation Department will be hosting Mad Science Summer Camps at the Minnie B. Veal Center. Red Hot Robots will start on July 29 and runs through August 2. The camp is for children in grades 1 through 6.

“Camps use exciting activities and spectacular demonstrations to capture the attention and imagination of children. Our hands-on programs act as a launch pad that release a child’s natural curiosity and encourage participants to become more interested in a variety of scientific fields,” said organizers.

Each day, campers will receive a take home project and summary sheet to reinforce what they learned in the program that day.

In Red Hot Robots, “Children will explore the fundamentals of robotics, discover the science of circuits, and how robots use sensors to explore things around them. After experimenting with sound-sensing robots, line-tracking robots, and even robots that can play soccer, campers will be well-equipped to build their own working robot to take home. Children will also build simple circuits, test for conductivity, and discover how switches work as they participate in a variety of hands-on activities & games,” according to organizers
