Edison, NJ - Edison Township’s Fall Cleanup program will commence on September 7, 2019, depending on the zone you reside in. The Township provides a clean-up program of large/bulky non-recyclable household items twice each year, once in Spring and once in Fall. Collections begin at 6:00 A.M. of the scheduled date.  Residents are asked to make arrangements for the material to be curbside before 6:00 A.M. and no sooner than 48 hours prior to the scheduled Clean-Up date.

Acceptable Items for Pick-up include:

            Furniture: Sofas, chairs, tables, box spring/mattresses (wrapped & sealed in plastic).

            Interior/Exterior Doors

            Vinyl/Metal Window Frames: Maximum 2 (no glass).

            Fixtures: Toilets, Tanks, Tubs (Tanks must be separated from toilets). Limit one each.

            Carpets: Limited to 10 rolls not to exceed 5 feet in length or 50 pounds in weight.

Unacceptable Items for Pick-Up:


            Washers, Dryers

            Hot Water Heaters

            Metals (e.g. lawn mowers, bikes)


Information on disposal for unacceptable items can be obtained by contacting the DPW office or calling 732-248-7288 to make arrangements for removal. There are limited opportunities for scheduling of regular special bulk pick-up dates during Spring/Fall Clean Up collections. Residents are reminded not to place branches at the curb with clean-up items as this can be a violation of Township Ordinance and subject to penalties.
