The annual open enrollment period for Affordable Care Act (ACA) health insurance plans ends on December 15th. Individuals who need health insurance coverage can sign up by going to www.healthcare.gov, and filling out the requisite information.  New Jersey residents with low income can get subsidized coverage under ACA. Coverage through ACA marketplace plan starts on January 1, 2020. A health insurance marketplace calculator is also available on the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) website — Health Insurance Marketplace Calculator. According to KFF, this calculator “provides estimates of health insurance premiums and subsidies for people purchasing insurance on their own in health insurance exchanges (or “Marketplaces”) created by the Affordable Care Act (ACA). With this calculator, you can enter your income, age, and family size to estimate your eligibility for subsidies and how much you could spend on health insurance. You can also use this tool to estimate your eligibility for Medicaid.”
